I'll admit I've never been to Earth before this. However, I did a fair bit of studying beforehand and I can't remember capes and masks being prevalent outside of fiction.

well we've only got a handful back home that i know of
bats is the big one

he's got the cape, the cowl, the fancy belt with all the gadgets
nobody knows who he really is
but we've rubbed elbows a few times
